2027:Oyo residents will embrace continuity, says Makinde

The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Friday, expressed optimism that residents of the state will embrace continuity and support any team put forward by his political party to build on the achievements of his administration.

 Makinde made the remarks while delivering the State of the State address at the hallowed chamber of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

 Speaking on his administration’s developmental projects spanning various sectors, Makinde explained that his strategy has been simple and effective, noting that it is driven by a clear vision, structured around four key pillars outlined in his 2019–2023 roadmap for accelerated development. 

While revealing the state's readiness to commence cargo airline operations at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola International Airport, the governor justified  N63 billion  allocated for the Oyo State government house renovation, explaining that the fund went up by inflationary trend and  exchange rate hike.

 The Governor, who also promised to rehabilitate inner roads across the state, also directed local government chairmen  to undertake 30 kilometres of inner roads grading.He also disclosed the state government's readiness to re-commence the light-ups projects for an expanded economy hours of productivity.

 

 

In his address, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin declared that the 10th Assembly has firmly established itself as a dynamic and people-focused institution. 

He noted that the house, being proactive, passed 32 bills which span education, health, economy, security, environment, infrastructure, social welfare and governance. 

 

In their various reactions, representatives from the seven geo-political zones of the state, including Ibadan less city, Ogbomosho Zone, Oyo Zone, Oke-Ogun, Ibadan Main City, Oke-Ogun 1, and Ibarapa Zone, respectively, lauded the developmental strides of the Makinde-led administration.

They however charged the governor to extend more dividends of democracy to their very zones
